In the Online Forms module in QuickSchools, there is a little known capability to allow applicants to save their online form, and submit it later. This is particularly useful if your form packet contains a large number of forms. Just be sure to turn on the feature when you’re configuring the Online Form Packet. Here’s what it looks like:
Configure Online Form Packet for Non-Authenticated Users
Once enabled, when an applicant accesses the Online Form via your public web page, they’ll be greeted with 2 options:
Online Form with Retrieval by Unauthenticated Users
When applying for the first time, after clicking “New Submission“, the applicant will need to fill in his/her name and email address:
Once submitted, the system will display the reference number:Read More »
When setting up a scale for your SBG, there is now an option for “Decaying Weights”:
Decaying Weights Scale in Standards-Based Gradebook
Once you’ve set up weightages, the system will weight only the most recent assessments, based on the weightages that you’ve specified:
Calculated Decaying Weights Score for Standard
Please be sure to check the “Use this gradebook settings”. Otherwise, your gradebook will use the settings set at the school level.
Power Law Scale
Similar to the “Decaying Weights” scale, the “Power Law” scale appears as an option in the settings for the Standards-Based Gradebook. There is nothing else to set. Read More »
Quickschools allows schools to roll out application or enrollment forms to parents and students via online forms. These application forms can then be used to seamlessly enroll the students in the system – getting rid of the arduous manual entering of student information from hundreds of application forms.
Quickschools supports two online forms – one is via the Admissions module while the other one is via the Online Forms app. These are the similarities between the two modules:
Both handle the enrollment of new students, including inquiries
Both have an Online Forms component, for collecting data submitted online (from a public page)
Both support Email Templates, to correspond with inquiries and applicants
Both allow applicants to upload files
One thing to note is that the Admissions module is included in all subscription plans within QuickSchools, vs. Online Forms is a paid app. Having said so, the Admissions module is designed with simplicity in mind, so schools can make use of it quickly. The Online Forms on the other hand are designed with more robust functionality.
The table below shows the difference between the two:
QuickSchools has a new Transcripts module going into Private Beta. This module works well with our recent Master Scheduler addition (also in Private Beta). Both modules make use of our new Courses and Subject Areas features. As a result, the new Transcripts has a few key features that make it different from our existing Transcripts module.
Key differences / features are discussed here:
View/Edit Transcripts from the Students module
Select courses from your Course Catalog (also used by Master Scheduler)
Select school/district (for transfer grades) from a central list of Institutions that you manage
Copy Grades from Report Cards (instead of from Gradebook)
Manage Subject Areas (also used by Master Scheduler), and Graduation Requirements
Display Credit Summary in Transcripts
Separate Details Report on Graduation
NOTE: This new beta feature can freely be turned on for new schools. But for schools that are already using our existing Transcripts module, there is migration process that needs to take place. Please contact support if you’d like to try out this new feature, and please indicate if you need to migrate any existing Transcript data to the new Transcript module.
View/Edit Transcripts from the Students module
When you click on a student record, there will be a new “Transcripts” tab that will allow you to view/edit Transcript grades for that student:

When adding a new semester section, you can select a school/district from a list of institutions:
If you’re an admin user for the Gradebook, you may have noticed a small change with our recent Sprint D8 Release. The dropdowns available on the QuickSchools Gradebook have been swapped. So instead of selecting a teacher followed by an academic term, you now need to select an academic term first, and then a teacher:
The change will allow administrators to access gradebooks for teachers who are no longer active, since the list of teachers is now dynamic based on the selected academic year. I minor change with a big impact. Thanks to the schools for suggesting this improvement to us.
If you have any other improvements you’d like to see in QuickSchools, please chat with us. We’re always looking for ways to improve.
But with this new release, you can click on “Gears” icon on the top right corner of the Standards-Based Gradebook, and override the “Score Calculation” and the “Overall Grade” for each subject:Read More »
Just wanted to make a quick QuickSchools announcement about our most recent Sprint release. Sprint D8 which was deployed earlier today includes the following:
Details to some of these features will be posted to our blog later this week. Please feel free to chat in with questions, comments or suggestions.
UPDATE: June 12, 2018
We have a late edition to the Sprint D8 Release. Just released as a patch, if you have access to “enter grades for all the teachers” in the Gradebook, upon selecting an academic term, you can select inactive teachers as well. More on this in a future article.
