What is 2FA?
2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring two steps to log in—your password and a one-time code sent to a trusted device. While it’s a small additional step, it goes a long way in protecting your account from unauthorized access.
Why should you enable 2FA?
Enabling 2FA is one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect your account. Here are 3 important reasons why you should have it on:
Enhanced Security: 2FA adds an extra layer of protection, making it much harder for unauthorized users to access your account, even if they have your password.
Protects Sensitive Information: With 2FA, personal information such as grades, assignments, and credit cards are better safeguarded against cyber threats.
Peace of Mind: Knowing your account is protected with an additional security measure helps you feel more confident in your online interactions and reduces identity theft risk.
How do you enable 2FA on your account?
Starting February 24th, 2FA will be automatically enabled for all QuickSchools accounts; However, only accounts with a valid email address will be affected.
Please be aware that your authentication is valid for 10 days. After logging in with 2FA, you must re-authenticate once the 10-day period expires.
Can you turn off 2FA on your account?
2FA will be optional for teachers, parents, and students. If you prefer not to use it, you can disable 2FA by logging on to your QuickSchools account and clicking “Settings”>”My Profile/Change Password.” Scroll down until you reach the following section:
Click the “Disable 2FA” option to turn off the security feature.
Please be aware that cybersecurity threats are increasing, and schools are frequent targets for phishing attacks and unauthorized access. Enabling 2FA adds a strong layer of protection, ensuring only you can access your account. This helps safeguard your data, maintain privacy, and prevent unauthorized changes or fraudulent activity. Therefore, we strongly recommend keeping 2FA enabled for enhanced security.
What if you don’t have an email address?
If your QuickSchools account isn’t linked to an email, please contact your school administrator to update your email details.
You also have the option to use Google Authenticator instead of your email address. You can choose 2FA with Google Authenticator by logging on to your QuickSchools account and clicking “Settings”>”My Profile/Change Password.” Scroll down until you reach the following section:
Click the “Google Authenticator” option to start using the app with QuickSchools’ 2FA.
As a user, you must install the Google Authenticator App and scan the QR Code on your profile screen. From then on, every time you log in from a new device, you’ll be asked to enter a passcode from your Google Authenticator App.
